Coffee from Kenya
Microlots from Kenya can be traced back to the processing station and, in individual cases, to the farm and are selected exclusively according to cup score. Most small farmers in Kenya own only 1/8 to 1/4 hectare of land for coffee cultivation, which is why they deliver their cherries to central processing stations.
The Kamwangi Factory is located in the north-east of Kirinyag and belongs to the New Ngariama Farmers Cooperative Society (F.C.S.), which operates a total of three processing stations. Over 900 coffee farmers, each of whom owns between 200 and 250 coffee trees, supply the station with their cherries. The Kamwangi processing station is known for its outstanding processing, strict quality controls and the resulting excellent cup profiles.
